For more than 30 years, local officials have talked about the need for an “outer loop” that would be constructed as a four-lane highway about four miles outside the U.S. 60 bypass around Owensboro.
An outer loop would connect the Interstate spurs to U.S. 60 East leading to the Natcher Bridge.
